An important culinary art during the 19th century, "dressing out a dessert" meant dessert services that were usually the most elegant part of a dinnerware set. Each dessert plate comes packaged in a blue and gold gift box with a recipe card featuring a favorite food of Abraham Lincoln. A back stamp features his name and term in office.
